Purchasing a kitchen is a long process. You will want time to consider your choices and then come back to us. To enable this, we must store information about you and details of your selection. When you order, we must share some of your data with manufacturers and delivery companies. In order to improve our site, we monitor and analyse visitor behaviour.

However, myKitchen.UK.com does not collect or store your credit card details. When it's time to pay, you will be connected directly with our banking partner. Nor will we rent, sell or give your details to third parties other than necessary manufacturers or delivery companies and those companies will not use that information for marketing or selling purposes. We will not contact you other than to fulfil your orders or answer your questions unless you give permission.

Data Collection

We collect the following information:

Computer information: Whenever you visit our website, your browser sends our web server limited information about itself so that we can respond effectively to its request. Our web server stores that information and, like most website owners, we analyse it so that we can ensure that our site is working property.
Interactive data: We store your kitchen plans so that you may return and continue with your design. Only if you decide to purchase an item are your plans matched to contact information such as your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address so that delivery can be made.
State management and cookies: Cookies are small text files stored by a website on the user's computer. We use cookies and other state management mechanisms to identify you as you browse our site, so that, for instance, you see your kitchen plan and no-one elses. We may also use cookies so that we can remember things about you from previous visits, for instance, to save you typing in your username and password every time you visit. If you wish to opt out of the use of cookies altogether, many of our advanced kitchen planning and ordering services won't work for you. Your browser will allow you to switch off the use of cookies.

We will ask your explicit permission to collect the following information about you:

Unique identifiers: If you choose to plan a kitchen using our site, we will store your username and password so that we can ensure that your kitchen plans remain private.
Contact information: If you wish to purchase a kitchen you will need to provide your name and address so that we can deliver your new kitchen, and we will need to store that and pass it to delivery services.
Purchase information and transaction history: We will store details of each item purchased by each user (but not credit card details, see above).
Preference data: In your onsite behaviour or in answering questions you will provide information about your kitchen preferences which we will store, analyse and act upon to help us provide a better service to you.
Search terms: If you find our website through a search engine, we will store and analyse the keywords you used at the search engine in order to make it easier for future visitors to find our website.

Data Use

This data will be used for the following purposes:

Supporting the purchasing of kitchens: We want you to be able to visit our site as many times as you need to to complete your plan, make your purchase, and come back for support as required. The data we collect and store is mainly used to provide these facilities.
Website and system administration: Visitor information is studied and acted upon to improve the site and our service to our clients.
Research and development: We study visitor data to help us understand how to improve our business. For instance, when we make a change to a menu, we may monitor whether the change has resulted in greater use of the site.
One-time tailoring, user analysis, profiling and decision-making: Our website may be tailored to your requirements, for instance, when we provide details of your kitchen plan.

Data sharing

This data will be used only by ourselves and:

Manufacturers: The manufacturers of the components you purchase will be given sufficient information for them to fulfil your request.
Delivery services: We have our own delivery services, however we reserve the right to use alternative delivery companies and to pass them sufficient data to make the delivery.

Data removal

We retain data after your purchase so that you can return to our site as required, for instance, to order additional items or replacement parts, however we reserve the right to remove your data at any point. We provide the option for you to delete your project and its associated information from our database.
